Our Story
Cup of Water was born from a simple yet powerful observation: in a world of abundance, too many people still go to bed hungry. Our journey began five years ago when a group of compassionate individuals witnessed the daily struggle of homeless families and individuals searching for food.
What started as a small effort to distribute home-cooked meals on weekends has grown into a full-scale daily feeding operation. We realized that hunger doesn't take a day off, and neither should compassion.
The name "Cup of Water" comes from the biblical principle that even the smallest act of kindness—offering a cup of water to someone in need—carries profound meaning. We believe that every meal we serve is an extension of this principle: a simple act that can transform a life.
Today, we proudly serve over 500 freshly cooked lunch meals every day at Sithalapakkam Khoot Road, touching thousands of lives with nourishment, dignity, and hope.
